The Siren

Animated feature, 100 min

In 1980, the southern Iranian port city of Abadan is attacked by the Iraqi army. The 16‐year‐old Omid restarts the ship “Sirene” in order to leave the besieged city with his friends and family. A modern arche story that has lost nothing of its topicality.

For the international co‐production, we produced a large part of the backgrounds and almost half of the 3D animation.

Iranian director Sepideh Farsi has been living in France for many years and is an internationally awarded documentary filmmaker who presents her first animated feature with THE SIREN.

THE SIREN opened the Panorama program of the 73rd Berlinale in February 2023 in front of an audience of over 800 at the Zoo‐Palast.
